About the DSJ

The mission of The DoG Street Journal is to provide a quality, reliable and thought-provoking media outlet serving the College community with timely coverage of diverse topics. By fostering an open, innovative arena for the cultivation of interests in journalism, the DSJ is the future of student media.

Being the future of student media is something we have worked hard at since two students, George Srour and Dan FitzHenry, first began the publication in January 2003. Our website, at the cutting edge of campus news media.

We strive to be flexible, meeting the changing needs of the campus community through publishing first a newspaper during the 2003-2004 school year, and now a news magazine that brings you deeper, more diverse coverage of campus news. Both the online and print versions of the DSJ are funded by advertising revenues from the two publications coupled with Student Assembly funding.

As a responsible element of the campus community, we also sponsor specific initiatives that bring the campus together. After Hurricane Isabel devastated campus trees in Fall 2003, we raised money through Standing Tall to plant new trees. This football season we have sponsored busses for students to attend away football games and show their Tribe Pride.

Thank you for your interest in The DoG Street Journal. Enjoy.
